The MiraSolaris Eco-Habitat System is a milestone in the development of marketable future buildings for climate protection.
With new and patented technologies the solar thermal energy can be utilized very efficiently for activating parts of massive buildings and thus heating them, so that only small amounts of green house gases are emitted all the year round. Due to this special way of construction and the extensive use of natural building materials the additional installation of electrically powered and controlled ventilation can be omitted.
With comparatively small areas of evacu- ated tube collectors (ratio collector area/living area = 1:10) an all the year round degree of solar covering for heating and hot water > 50 % can be achieved. The unique collector design guarantees high solar yields, even with diffused light and low outdoor temperatures.
Usually the MiraSolaris Eco-Habitat System is supported, if need arises, with a CO2-neutral burner for organic substances such as pellets. A combination with other types of heaters (e. g. gas or heat pump) can also be realized without trouble.
The heat distribution is handled by thermal activation of components, meaning that walls and ceilings are permanently kept at a low level temperature of 24 °C predominantly with free solar energy.
With the high degree of radiant heat an especially comfortable living atmos- phere can be achieved.
The massively built shell of the building is "actively" insulated with free solar energy too.
The MiraSolaris System is open for future developments in the real estate area. Ongoing developments and system optimizations are a means of further enhancing the energy efficiency of the MiraSolaris Eco-Habitat System and to reach the goal of "Zero-Emission".
Due to the high contribution of solar energy to the total demand of heating energy the consumption of additional energy sources (nowadays usually wood pellets) is of secondary importance. This solution goes easy on the resources of regenerative energy sources (e.g. forests) and the global CO2-circuit is relieved.
Apart from the future oriented, active effects for the protection of the climate due to solar based heating systems this of course results also in an uncoupling from rising energy costs and in a high reduction of consumer costs. The building component activation can be used without trouble, should the need arise, for energy-efficient cooling of the building.
Optimizations in the design of the system and the choice of components have paved the way to the fact that the MiraSolaris Eco-Habitat System only needs additional investments up to an average of 3%.
Compared to conventional heating systems the costs of heating with the use of free solar energy are reduced by an average of at least 50%.
The systems are user-friendly, capable of remote-maintenance and extremely robust in operation and therefore cause no unforeseen subsequent costs.
Because of the rather small expenditure of consumption throughout the whole life cycle of these buildings the additional investments pay for themselves in a short period of time.
